UConn Waterbury offers comprehensive academic support to help students succeed, beginning with the Academic Achievement Center (AAC). The AAC provides workshops, presentations, drop-in hours, and programs like UConn Connects to strengthen study strategies, time management, and overall academic planning. As part of the AAC, the Learning Lab offers one-on-one content coaching in a variety of subjects, giving students the tools to master course material and build confidence.
The Campus Library further supports student success by providing access to extensive research materials, online databases, and quiet study spaces, along with expert librarian assistance in research and information literacy. Located within the Library, the Writing Center offers personalized guidance at every stage of the writing process, from brainstorming ideas to final revisions.

UConn Waterbury Academic Achievement Center

The UConn Waterbury Academic Achievement Center (AAC) is a supportive resource dedicated to fostering student success and enhancing academic performance. Located on the Waterbury campus, the AAC offers a range of services, including peer content coaching, academic coaching, and workshops focused on essential skills like time management, study strategies, and exam preparation. Students can schedule one-on-one appointments, join study groups, or take advantage of Supplemental Instruction and Learning Lab hours for collaborative learning in a welcoming, student-centered environment.
The AAC is staffed by experienced peer content coaches and academic coaches committed to helping students achieve their personal and academic goals. Additionally, the center provides access to resources on learning styles, note-taking, and other skills that promote effective learning. Faculty who would like to request a classroom presentation can also partner with the AAC to bring academic support directly to their students. Through personalized support, the AAC helps students excel in their courses, develop confidence, and maximize their academic potential.

UConn Waterbury Learning Lab (Tutoring Center)

The UConn Waterbury Learning Lab (previously called the Tutoring Center) provides academic services for all UConn Waterbury students. Tutoring is available for several courses, including many of the first-year STEM courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology. UConn Waterbury Writing Center
The Writing Center at UConn Waterbury assists students with essays, lab reports, term papers, academic or creative writing, multimodal projects, résumés, cover letters, and personal statements. Professionally trained peer tutors help students understand writing assignments, organize ideas, fine-tune thesis statements, develop more effective sentences, organize paragraphs, prepare citations, and more.
